This is part two of my exercise in metaphors and similes, where I stretch things as far as they’ll go. Previously, I used the hawk as my starting point, and this morning, as I sat on the train, I thought of this one.
There are all sorts of fruits out there. You have the traditional staples and then you have the more exotic ones – you even have new fruits that are born into the world every so often.
Girls are like fruits.
They’re colorful and come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they’re sweet, sometimes they’re sour, and sometimes they taste really unfamiliar. Some fruits are so strange that you need time to get to know them, but once you do, they grow on you and you come to love them; maybe even get addicted to them. Some fruits are light and citrusy, while some are dense and hard to swallow. But you know what? Fruits = good.
Some fruits grow together in bunches like grapes and some are individuals. Girls are pretty much the same way. Fruits are enticing and when you see them at the store, you imagine all the ways you want to eat them up. They’ll look so amazing and they’ll be super fragrant. But sometimes you buy them and their insides don’t match what you see. They end up tasting like crap. It’s really the same way with girls.
Does any of this really matter? Fruits taste good and they’re good for you. So, gents, go eat ou…I mean, go eat some fruit.
